Bug: Flash beast says my solution isn't valid!

I've completed the September 2005 Beast using the Flash method, which also involved saving it a couple of times and reloading it ... and now it says 'Solution isn't valid' every time I hit 'done'.  And I'm sure it's right!  There's only one loop, and I checked every number three times, and there aren't any loose bits of line hanging anywhere accidentally ... I even cheated and checked my solution against Smith's loopdeloop (I was desperate!)

Is there any way someone (Foilman!) can check my current save file and see why it won't accept the solution?  I was a bit hesitant to report it as a bug, but now that I've checked the solution ... I'm sure.  (I can put an image of my solution up somewhere if you need, but I'm not sure that will help.  It's right, anyway! )

Well that was very very strange... the solution for that beast stored in the database was only half complete! I've no idea how that happened... it should be ok now!

It's lucky I don't care about times for the Beasts then

Can you check the BOTM August 2008? I thought I solved it, twice, but it says: "The solution isn't valid."

It won't accept my solution either, and I double-checked every number in the puzzle and made sure it was all one loop.

I've had that problem the first time I tried, but I've not completed my second run yet.

Hmmm, weird. I've no idea how this happened (again!) but it should be fine now... I'm going to have to double-check all the upcoming beasts I think!

Yeah, I just got a 'solution not valid' error on this month's beast too...

I didn't get a "solution isn't valid" error message; in my case, submitting the solution simply lagged and eventually failed (the same window you get when you e.g. lose your internet connection and then try to submit the solution to a puzzle) - repeatedly. I tried clicking on "Save" to save the beast, but it didn't work. I guess I'll have to redo the beast to see whether I'll get the "solution isn't valid" thing, too...

I wish I had checked this forum earlier. I'm getting it too and have been spending over an hour trying to find the error.

Should be fine now... still no idea why it happens. I've checked the next few months and they're all fine. Very odd.

Worked for me.
EDIT: After the fix, that is.
Thanks!

When the solution stored in the database is only half complete ... does it look like someone's save file?  Or is it truncated somehow?

It was caused by a bug in my puzzle generator where it grabbed the solution a few moves too early & missed out the last few lines... I fixed it but somehow a few of the dodgy puzzles were still out there. I hope I've got them all, but it's not very easy to check (there are hundreds queued up in the database!)

This problem seems to have arisen again with this month's Beast (Feb 2011)

Ok, that's fixed and I've run a re-solve across all beasts to try to catch any future ones too. Thanks!
