I got on the site tonight to do Friday's puzzle, and imagine my surprise when I saw that I had already spent over 45 minutes working on it :0  I guess I must have somehow clicked on it earlier, though I don't know how.
Oh, well. It's just a pretty sucky situation.

It might be the case that something similar happened to you as described in this topic.

Today, I've just done saturday's puzzle in its entirety *twice*

My computer lost the connection to the website when I pressed submit, and the back button took me to an empty grid.

Grrrrr....!!!

If you're using a tabbed browser there will be a key you can hold down to open a link in a new tab.  On the apple it's the command/apple key.  I think it's ctrl on a PC.  Use this when you hit 'done it' and that way you don't lose what you've done if the page can't connect.

This works in Safari.  I haven't tested it on a PC but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Excellent idea.  I'll try and remember this in future.

At least on my aging Linux Firefox, that only works for links, not javascript buttons like "Done It!".

When something like this happened to me, foilman recommended reloading the error page until it worked - your browser should remember the form data.

Indeed, it doesn't work for the done button.

Should've just hit reload...

As I say, tested positive on Safari on the mac.  Just got round to checking it on Firefox for the Mac and no-go.

Sorry to any non-mac users.  My bad..

Should be a piece of cake to find or create a Firefox extension for this, or to preserve javascript state so the back button works, but somehow it would feel like cheating if I did that specifically for Kwon-Tom Loop.

I had the same thing happen to me on Sunday's puzzle.  Luckily, everyone's times are pretty rough on Sunday anyway.

So it continues. It's happening on every puzzle, but I'm not a competitive guy, so it's not big deal.

I've been getting bad (3 seconds) to terrible (15 seconds) lag since at least Sunday (and double those for big puzzles), but it's only failed to get through a couple of times. So far I've been pretty lucky on live puzzles - the only really slow one was Monday, where I managed two "not done yet"s anyway so was never going to be competitive.

If you happen to me running Firefox on Linux (like me), I highly recommend disabling 3-button emulation on your mouse. This translates LeftMB and RightMB together to mean the same as the MiddleMB, which in Firefox, loads a new webpage.

And I was doing so well too
