Found a bug last week, but I had to wait until I figured out a safe way of testing it (without 'cheating') ...

If you leave your browser on your home page until the cookie (or whatever, the login) times out, and then click on one of the puzzles, you get the current puzzle while not logged in, rather than last week's as you normally would while not logged in.

The link should check your cookie before giving you the puzzle.

I tested it yesterday on a puzzle I'd already done, after noticing it last week on a puzzle I hadn't previously seen (and immediately going 'oops, I'm not logged in').  I'm not sure, but I think my counter started from 0 after I logged in that time.

PS still enjoying this site after 3 years, even though I'll never make it to club 9, and it keeps getting better ...  Yay foilman!

Hehe, well spotted, thanks! That's been a bug since the flash puzzles were introduced. It was even easier to demonstrate than your method - if you copied one of the links from your home page, then logged out and went to the link (without waiting for cookies or anything) you'd still see the puzzle despite not being logged in.

A bit of a hole in the current puzzle security, I think!!!

Anyway, it should be fixed now. Let me know if you find any other sneaky ways to see the current puzzles without being logged in.....
